Should a public Covid inquiry assign blame to individuals? Absolutely. A few public commentators have suggested that we shouldn't really be getting into the “blame game.” We should just be “constructive.” We should just be helping to improve our response to future pandemics. We should just be tweaking our governmental system to make it more efficient and more effective and so on.
It is so self-serving for them to say this because the people who are saying this - surprise, surprise! - are people who were supportive of the draconian interventions and in some cases were very directly involved in either recommending or implementing these interventions.
Citizens were stripped of civil and human rights, such as the right to informed consent, the right to protest, the right to practice one's religion freely without being intimidated, the right to participate in public discourse, without being arbitrarily censored, just because you disagree with the “official” position. All of these rights where simply cast aside, eviscerated, all in the name of protecting us, or “saving lives” or “saving the NHS.”

These interventions were not due to some minor technical mistake or a little bit of incompetence. Rather, they were the result of criminal negligence. What I mean by that is that the individuals involved in authorizing these interventions did not take the time to carry out any kind of serious cost benefit assessment. Certainly none was published during the lockdown. Certainly not in the first six months or year of the lockdown.
It’s criminal negligence to put the life of one patient in jeopardy in a thoughtless way. So, of course, it's criminal negligence to put the life and health of a whole society at risk without carefully considering the nature of that risk; the extent of that risk; how to mitigate that risk; and whether the intervention is proportionate and justified. This is just a very basic principle of any public policy intervention. And if you're going to impose the greatest social experiment in modern history, then surely it's very obvious that you have to consider the potential risks associated with that intervention.
So, yes, we do need a public COVID inquiry to name names. We do need a public COVID inquiry to hold individuals accountable for what just happened to our society. Many people will be paying the price of these interventions for many, many years to come, and we're not going to be able to undo the wrongs of the past few years. But justice must be served. And that is only possible if these individuals pay for what they did.
If we fail to hold individuals accountable for what just happened, then we're basically sending out the message that it's no big deal if you recklessly jeopardize the health and well-being of the entire citizen body. No big deal. You can just get on with your life and your career and we'll just forget it ever happened.
Sorry, but that's not acceptable. I'm not willing to accept that. And I think many other citizens are not willing to accept that either. So people will have to pay for what they did to us. This kind of reckless behavior has to have a price. Because if people walk away from this level of criminal negligence scot-free, then there is no justice in our society. To give the culprits of this disaster a free pass would be to make a mockery of the whole moral order of our society.
If you're going to prosecute somebody for committing a petty crime, then how can you just turn a blind eye when someone inflicts enormous disruption on our health services; confines citizens to their home; forces citizens basically to accept an experimental medication against their will and segregates society according to people's vaccination status? Are we seriously saying that the people who inflicted this toxic experiment on society can just walk away scot-free, just get on with their life and their career without paying any price?
I don't think so. A price will have to be paid. That is what justice demands.
Thank you for this.
Allowing this go to unpunished is to spit on all those who suffered from, and/or lost their lives to the abuse.
Well said Sir. Nice to see your face on the Utube too!
