It's a tiny drop in the bucket, but I am one of your new Gettr followers. Thank you for your thoughtful posts.

As Jack said, a million followers starts with the first one!

People cannot complain about being dissed by the bird and yet beg to return - like Berenson.

There is only well-known way to get the attention of any business or service provider: leave!

Glad to see you here and on Gettr. I have two more reasons to add as to why people don't move to newer, smaller platforms. 1) Parler. In early 2021, I joined Parler. I built a profile and followed a bunch of people. Less than 2 weeks later, the platform got nuked. I didn't join Gettr until yesterday and I still have the same worries that it will be nuked and again I'll have to migrate. Finding folks again is a time investment I hate having to make. 2) I like the concept of a town square where everyone can converse. Abandoning Twitter feels like giving up on that dream. However, so many have been kicked off of Twitter that it's looking like a losing war, not just a losing battle. I fear what will happen in real life when people are in ever smaller echo chambers and there is no hope that they might run into an opposing viewpoint. I fear people will be more likely to kill each other in the real world when they run into opposition. I guess we'll just have to see where this leads.

I’m tired of making new accounts everywhere, so I’ve been dragging my feet with GETTR. My hubby shared this with me this morning (link). I hear about concerning issues on all the platforms, so I’ve been sticking with Twitter because I already know their wicked ways and what to expect.

I wish everyone was in one place again. I’m sure it will happen at some point, but it’s hard to know where to go in the meantime, at least it is for me. I’m loving the Substack articles, but it’s a totally different medium and takes so much more time to get through everything.

Thoughts?
