I am very pleased to report that a 3 minute video I published this weekend on Twitter explaining why I am steering clear of government-led emergency cellphone alerts has taken off, with over 74,000 views. Here is the Youtube version: People - a minority, yes, but a growing minority - are waking up to the fact that governments can no longer be trusted to manage public emergencies in a responsible and measured way. You might think this is a bad thing - after all, distrust in public institutions inevitably means it is more difficult to get access to reliable information and to coordinate effectively. And you would be right.
I lived in Santa Clara County, California, during the pandemic. It was one of the worst counties in the country for covid restrictions. I turned the emergency notifications on my phone off when they abused the system in 2021 to tell people to get the vaccine.
Thanks David. I hope & pray that even more folk wake up to the evil that has already engulfed the world. Your tireless work & many others too. Will get the message of hope & improvement in the human condition out there, for more to see.
The surefire way to tell if these ‘emergency alerts’ are a continuing abuse of our freedoms and attempted further manipulation of our behaviour by an overweening state is to examine whether such systems are being implemented globally - in lockstep. They are.
