Great article. As the expression goes, normally, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts- as you eluded to regarding institutions of science and medicine. They used to hold each other accountable. But alas, like a giant bag of what was once good apples, a few spots of rot affected the whole lot, turning everything into a heap of slimy smelly sewage.

We are not naive to have once trusted, for the most part, these institutions. But if there are still people who haven’t become aware of the insidious nature of the deceit and corruption, it’s time to take a closer look.

>But I was generally disposed to believe that in matters of public health, where matters of life and death were at stake, there would be a convergence of goodwill and competence.

Reply: Not sure when you grew up, but I did in the 1950s and 60s. I thought it was scary to be caught with grass in those days. Very scary. But when I heard in 1970 how gestapo Pharma and the Cancer industry were if you dare say anything may be beneficial to healing cancer other than CHEMO, RADIATION or SURGERY was truly horrifying. You could spend a life time in jail for daring to suggest that science may have more options than that. Wow I was stunned.

When you see how the health of the USA in 1970 is 4th in the world today 79th and so much more over these many decades, you know the Government doesn't gave a sh*t about the common man. No that is not what gov is about. It is to keep the common man common or worse. Certainly to extract the very last penny from the miserable life foisted upon him/her

The doctor proclaiming, sounds more like scolding, you were risking the lives of children is typical of many so called leaders and authorities. They makes statements and decisions with no or weak evidence then expect everyone to shut up and do what there told. These personality types gravitate to positions of power because it gives them some sort of weird pleasure to be in control and they go ballistic if anyone dares challenge their logic. Think Fauci. It is good there are a few that enjoy watching the missiles go off.
