Germany was a constitutional democracy before Hitler rose to power. Hitler's triumph took many Germans completely by surprise. What was even more surprising to many Germans was how many civil society leaders, cultural leaders, academics, doctors, businessmen, politicians, and journalists kept their mouths shut while Germany was engulfed in an ugly form of anti-semitic and anti-constitutional authoritarianism.

It's not a trivial question. I have a family that I want to shield, I only want to go on with my life and my family, quietly and without problem, but I also feel that now I can't do that without speaking loudly against the madness
When I clicked on your post, I had no idea whether it was going to be from this perspective...or the other. I soon knew where you stood because you used specifics, but there are so many posts using terms like “authoritarianism “ and “censorship” to make the opposite argument. Without using specific examples, good persuasive writers can easily get readers to think, “Hell, yeah! Authoritarianism and censorship are bad!”, never realizing that the writer means exactly the opposite of what they think they’re agreeing with.
The power of hypnotism never ceases to amaze me. Constant brainwashing together with blanket censorship is incredibly effective. The resulting "groupthink" seems almost permanent. It is like they are almost possessed by it, and trained to attack anything that challenges the new religion. Weird, very weird...

So true! So tragically true!
Wake up world! This is happening in real time!

We have to all speak up, one truth is worth 5 lies so we have a huge advantage. Once we reach the tipping point the avalanche can do the rest!
Thanks David. Great post. Appreciated.
