On Christmas morning I woke up to the news that my long dormant Twitter account had finally been restored, after 14 months in the media wilderness. A nice little Christmas present. The account was restored with its full complement of 22,000 followers, which had grown to 27,000 by the following afternoon.
In spite of the frequent superficiality and bickering one finds on Twitter, I am delighted to be back on the platform, and invite you to follow my Twitter account as a complement to my Freedom Blog, since Twitter is ideal for exchanging useful news stories and learning in real time from a global community of inquirers, many of which do understand the value of liberty and are committed to following the evidence wherever it leads.
I will continue to publish in-depth analysis on The Freedom Blog of the sort that cannot be contained in a pithy tweet, to offer you thoughtful and evidence-based perspectives both on the threats to freedom that are coming down the pike, and on how we might rise to the challenge of fostering a free and prosperous way of life - in short, a life worth living and handing down to our children and grandchildren.
But now that Elon has “freed the bird,” I will also make use of Twitter to engage in real time with global news and developments, especially on issues that affect our freedom and our quality of life. This sort of dynamic, conversational engagement and information-sharing is not really what Substack is designed to achieve. So there is a natural complementarity between these two platforms.
The good news is: both platforms are now largely free from heavy-handed censorship. Twitter is far from perfect, but under the circumstances, the new level of freedom of thought and expression on issues from transgender ideology to climate change to Wokeness to vaccine harms is a massive improvement on the leftist-Covidean cabale that Twitter was just a few months ago.
So come on over to a new and freer Twitter and join the conversation!
